Jurga Rimkute, Creative Director of Lanphier Spa said, “We strive to provide an environment for an exceptional escape from every day.” Art is very much part of our atmosphere. I am pleased to work with Martie Mackay and Rick Bannerot as they create visuals that soothe, nourish and free our imagination.”
Martie Mackay’s work is wonderfully imaginative and stylized interpretations of photographs that create stunning visuals. Presented on thick acrylic sheets, premium canvas-wrapped frames, and framed archival papers, the bold colors and often whimsical subject matter shows a confidant hand and the artist’s fine control of her selected mediums. Martie developed her techniques as a way to escape the constraints of conventionality and to allow for greater expression with her photographic images. She is a Board member of the New Canaan Society for the Arts/Carriage Barn Art Center, has studied at the Silvermine School of Art and has worked under the direction of professional photographers at home and abroad. Complementing Lanphier’s ambience is the photographic work of Rick Bannerot. Ranging from a hallway filled with graphically-pleasing black & white images in Lanphier, his color work transitions in our studios to softer, waterborne photographs of a blood wolf moon rising over exotic jungle-lined riverbanks in Paraguay to classic yachts racing under clouds of canvas sails on LI Sound. Rick is a member of Rowayton Arts Council, Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Wilton Art’s Council’s “Focus” exhibitions. His work can frequently be seen on the covers of WindCheck Magazine, in the Stamford Advocate, and on various online and print fly-fishing publications.
